HOT OR NOT: Colourpop Lux Lipsticks

A few days ago I received a package in the mail from one of my favorite beauty brands. Colourpop has finally launched traditional lipsticks and I couldn't wait to get my hands on these. The liquid lipstick trend is slowly dying within the beauty industry and I'm honestly a little happy about it. Don't get me wrong I love a good liquid lipstick, but they tend to leave my lips feeling like the Sahara. But hey, at least they stay on all day.

Anyways I decided to give these new lipsticks a try considering they were only $7. So, if you're interested in finding out what I think about the new Colourpop Lux Lipsticks, keep on reading. (I know the anticipation is killing you)

DISCLAIMER: This post will consist of MY personal view on this product. I am in no way trying to bash a brand or their products. I am also not trying to offend anyone that may be in love with this product or brand. Please keep in mind that everything does not work for everyone.

I picked up three different colors from the collection, nudes of course. The collection launched with 24 different shades ranging from nudes to bold pops of color. I normally stick to nude lipsticks because I can get the most use out of them. Immediately when I swatched the lipstick I noticed how creamy and smooth the formula was. It was more of a "comfortable matte" than the matte that I'm used to with liquid lipsticks. All of the shades lasted a good amount of time on my lips (I only had to reapply once throughout the day). So in no particular order here are the shades that I grabbed.

Uno Mas

The first color that I purchased was Uno Mas. This color is a nice peachy nude that looks beautiful paired with a brown lip liner. I've grown to love peachy nudes within the last year because they pretty much go with every warm look. This was definitely my favorite out of the bunch.

Lay Over

Lay Over is a typical color for me. This color is more on the pink side, with a hint of brown. It's a little on the darker end of the spectrum but it's still a pinky nude. Which is perfect for me because muaves and pinks are my thing. This is a color that will go PERFECT with other shades. I know I said that Uno Mas was my favorite but this one is definitely a close second.

LA Lady

So the final color is definitely something that I normally wouldn't gravitate towards. I'm really not big on red lipsticks (I know, I know they're classic). But I decided to give this one a shot. I have to say I'm glad I did. This color is like nothing that I've ever seen before. It's red but it's nothing like your traditional red. Personally it seemed like more of a muted brownish red to me (if that makes sense). Either way I fell in love with this color. (SIDENOTE: please excuse the swatch for this one. I was having technical difficulties.

Final Thoughts

Overall I have to say that I am in love with these new lipsticks! The colors were beautiful, the pigmentation was opaque, and the formula was so lightweight and creamy. Not to mention they're only $7!

Honestly, this shouldn't come as a surprise considering that Colorpop comes out with bomb products. If you haven't tried out their products yet, you're honestly sleep.

If you didn't know they're going to be coming to Ulta next month (I literally could cry). So you'll be able to pick up their products in person if you're not an online shopper.

Let me know if you've shopped with Colourpop before, or if you want to try these lipsticks out.

Until next time beauties.
